Bobby Shmurda Could Be Out of Jail Next Week

Bobby Shmurda may have gotten an early Valentine's Day present from bail bondsman-to-the-stars Ira Judelson. The bondsman tells Bossip he has put up the $2 million bail to secure the Brooklyn rapper an early release from prison.

“At the end of the day, I’m their bank. I’m the one who is going to be putting up the money to secure their appearance in court,” Judelson told Bossip of Shmurda and his fellow GS9 crew members who were charged with everything from conspiracy, criminal possession of weapons and even attempted murder. “Bobby is relying on me to put up the $2 million to get him out the door, get him back to his family and get his music career back on track.”

Shmurda's attorney Kenneth J. Montgomery confirms that bail has been posted, but adds that it may be 72 hours or more before his client is actually released. "A 72 hour surety is attached and the package has to be examined by the Government," Montgomery tells Complex. "If approved he is released. If not a hearing would be scheduled to litigate any issues.

A surety is ordered when the district attorney wants to ensure the funds used to post bail are not illicit.

Last month, Shmurda and members of the GS9 crew were arrested outside of Quad Studios in New York City, and later indicted on charges of conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and more. It was later announced that the investigation was part of a months-long narcotics operation.

Shmurda, who is currently behind bars at Riker's Island, is due back in court in April.
