Jonathan Unveils Three Security Documents Over Insurgency

Incumbent Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has unveiled three National security documents for the different security problems facing the country, especially Boko Haram insurgency.
The documents are the National Security Strategy, the National Counter-Terrorism Strategy as well as the National CyberSecurity Policy and Strategy.
The unveil of the documents was a part of the program of the Council of State Meeting which is ongoing at Aso Rock in Abuja.
It should be noted while meeting being held, Nigerians were marching to Aso Rock Villaagainst election postponement.
Nigeria’s past heads of state, comprising the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.). Meanwhile the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo is not there.
The other participants are 28 governors of PDP and APC ruled states as well as the deputy governors of Oyo, Borno and Abia states.
President Jonathan clarified the Boko Haram terrorism as the key threat to national security, regretting that the group had continued the wanton disruption of lives and property in the three north-eastern states of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno.
The head of the country stated that the terrorists were out to undermine national security as they did not believe in Nigeria nor in the sanctity of human lives.
He explained that the counter terrorism strategy document was a major contribution to national efforts towards effectively and comprehensively dealing with the challenges posed by Boko Haram and other terrorist groups.

Nigerian Army has been achieving some success in a war against Boko Haram insurgency.
Troops recently stormed Sambisa forest,the notorious hideout of terrorists. It is believed that over 200 Chibok schoolgirls are being held there.
No less than 6000 fighters in Madagali and Gulak area of the state were surrounded by military on Tuesday, February 3rd.
